Man Shot Near Alfa Mall; police search for suspect – Baltic News Network

On the evening of Tuesday April 12, a man was shot dead and another was injured in a forest in Riga, not far from the Akropole Alfa shopping center. The murderer remains free. Police are currently looking for the suspect.

As reported by the head of the public relations office of the state police, Simona Grāvīte, shortly before 7:30 p.m., the police received reports that a man was shot and another injured in a forest in Riga, near from Stāmerienas Street. The injured was taken to hospital. The suspect, however, left the scene of the crime.

After receiving information about the incident, the police immediately launched the Trap plan. A large police force was organized to search for and apprehend the suspect.

According to LETA, police had surrounded a building not far from the Akropole Alfa shopping center on Tuesday evening. Several policemen armed with automatic firearms entered the building. It is not known if this operation is linked to the murder that took place in the nearby forest.

National police are looking for the man in the photo. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of this person is asked to report this information to the police by calling 110 or 2989396.

Police say the man could be dangerous and residents should not try to apprehend him on their own.
