Dollar General employee kicked, run over with shopping cart: Akron police

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — Akron police are investigating after a store worker said she was assaulted during a shoplifting Monday.
It happened around 9:35 a.m. at the Dollar General in the 500 block of E. Exchange Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, the 46-year-old saleswoman told them she had been assaulted by two women who had left the store with goods they had not paid for.
According to the report, the clerk confronted the suspects after they loaded up two carts and attempted to leave. The employee told police she was then kicked several times in the head and knocked down by a shopping cart.
The suspects then left the scene in an unknown vehicle, according to the report.
The day before, a Walgreens manager had been spat on and skinned in another shoplifting.
Investigators do not know at this time if the incidents are related.
Both cases remain under investigation.
