Crowd of Kansas fans hover in basket during NCAA wild championship celebration

Thousands of Univ. Kansas fans took to a street near campus to celebrate the Jayhawks’ NCAA championship on Monday night – with one fan crowd-surfing in a shopping cart!!
The wild party unfolded moments after Kansas stormed back to win the title against UNC … with an estimated 70,000 people leaving their homes near Lawrence to cheer on the men’s basketball team. school.
Video shows the scene was crazy – people were side by side for what looked like a few hundred yards – and at one point a fan got into a cart and the crowd surfed into it.
Footage reveals that the people below him moved him around with ease, while fireworks flashed in the background.

The party, according to reporters on site, went well after midnight – but the Lawrence Police Department says almost everyone behaved, with preliminary reports showing only three arrests were made and no injuries important.

Ochai Agbaji, who scored 12 points in the Kansas win, earned Final Four Most Valuable Player honors. The championship was Kansas’ fourth in school history.
