Bank bag with 5,000 cash taken from an unattended basket at Hammond’s produce market

HAMMOND, La. (KLFY) — Hammond Font released stills of the suspect who they say stole a bank bag containing a large sum of cash from a local produce market.

Police say it happened at the Berry Town Produce on West Church Street in Hammond.

A review of company security footage revealed the suspect exited a black Ford F-150 truck, approached an unattended shopping cart and took a bank bag containing approximately $5,000 in cash , police said.

He is described as a middle-aged black man who wore a red striped shirt and a red hat, police said.
