Al Meera opens a new mall in Muscat

DOHA: Al Meera Consumer Goods Company has opened its first rehabilitated shopping center in the Al Athaiba district of Muscat, Oman.

The opening ceremony was attended by Yahya bin Sulaiman Al Nadabi, Deputy Governor of Bawshar (Oman), Dr Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Board of Al Meera (Oman), Rashed Al-Saadi , Vice Chairman of the Board, Dr Mohamed bin Nasser Al Qahtani, Member of the Board of Directors (Qatar), Guy Sauvage, CEO of Al Meera (Qatar) and Mohamed Sulaiman (Oman). A partnership exists between Al Meera and the National Investment Funds Company Oman (Nifco).

Al Qahtani said the opening of this branch comes after the completion of rehabilitation and restoration works in line with the company’s plans to gain more share in the retail market in Oman. He said the new facility aims to improve services, diversify products for customers and add more convenient shopping experience with spacious spaces, modern amenities, diversified products and a beautiful shopping area.

Al Athaiba Mall also features a special floor for items such as clothing, gifts, toys, cosmetics, many renowned restaurants and major Landmark Group franchises such as E-max, Shoe Express and Lifestyle.

“Al Meera now has five branches in Oman. The opening of the Al Athaiba branch is the start of the process of developing the rest of the branches according to plans. These branches are spread inside and outside Muscat, where the market is growing rapidly,” Al Qahtani added.

He said more than 30% of employees at Al Meera branches in Oman are Omani citizens.
